Basic Disaster Supplies Kit
- Water - one gallon of water per person per day for at least three days, for drinking and sanitation
- Food - at least a three-day supply of non-perishable food
— non-perishable packaged or canned food / juices — foods for infants or the elderly — snack foods — non-electric can opener — cooking tools / fuel — paper plates / plastic utensils
- Plastic sheeting and duct tape to shelter in place
Additional Emergency Supplies Once you have gathered the supplies for a basic emergency kit, you may want to consider adding the following items:
- Cash (with some small bills) and Credit Cards - Banks and ATMs may not be available for extended periods
— insurance, medical records, bank account numbers, Social Security card, etc.
- Tools - keep a set with you during the storm
